Dim digital displays

I have 2 digital multifunctional tachs, 1 digital speed and 1 fuel management gauges. All are nearly unreadable. Is this just a product of age or could it be a another issue?

Could be low voltage, bad ground, screen is turning opaque or the LCD is failing.
