F100/F115 Oil Filter

Whenever my mechanic change my engine oil,i noticed he change the filter as well.However,the manual say it should be change at one year.i'm a bit baffled.

Any suggestions are welcome

Most shops change the filter everytime they change the oil. That's a fairly normal practice and cheap insurance.
