1989 9.9 hp 4 stroke (ft9.9elf) fuel pump

Hi my 1989 9.9hp 4 stroke has oil leaking from behind the fuel pump. Is there suppose to be a o - ring or a gasket sealing the pump to the head? When I removed the pump there was no seal and after I re-attached it it still leaked. I just bought the boat so I don't know any history. I noticed on a parts diagram that there appears to be a o-ring. Thanks20160821_121634.jpg

Yes, there is an O ring between the pump and its mount.
