so chasing down an intermittent no start, poor idle ... thought the ISC was going bad causing these issues...
went through everything
new plugs good spark
low pressure pump good
VST cleaned, filter looked brand new, no water in fuel, fuel pressure 42psi,
injectors had a good spray and resistance was good.
so then for the 10th time since I've tried to get this thing to run, as soon as it started up was idling poor as it has been, the warning horn started going off as soon as it turned over before it even had a chance to warm up..
the only things i know of that can set off the alarm is oil, water temp, and the water switch..
YDS water temps are always normal, continuity on water switch is off, and checked it off the engine and it works appropriately
now on yds the engine monitor portion it always says oil switch on, even when the engine is not running. but on the data logger portion its sometimes on and off... and I'm thinking it should always be on?
so I'm guessing the way this works since its only wire is when there is pressure theres no continuity and when the pressure drops it grounds that wire out and tells the computer to go into limp mode and sets off the horn?
so maybe I've been in limp mode and my horn has been loose
and my pressure switch is bad or i have no oil pressure... there is continuity from the ring terminal to the ecm pin so i can hook up an analog gauge inline to the pressure switch to make sure i actually do have oil pressure....
and so if i take off that ring terminal will the computer think i have oil pressure and run normal?
