    What's a can axle?

And you purchase parts right here. Look up and to the right, in RED-
    "Purchase Yamaha Parts"

        Cam shaft!!

Here's the closest thing I could find close to your engine:

2006 and Later F4LMHA Yamaha Outboard VALVE Diagram and Parts .

Its a single cam inside the engine block. It'd be best to buy a service manual
for exactly how to change it.

        Per this fisch:
http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ya...TON/parts.html the cam runs directly off the crankshaft with the gear(s) being closer to the mid section(or lower side of the engine).

So the engine would need to R&Red from the mid section, and the cases split:

        http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ya...202/parts.html

Not being an overhead cam engine, its basically like changing the cam shaft out on an older mower engine.

Why do you think you need a cam shaft?
