I am on this page trying to find my model for parts: http://yamahamc.partsandwarranty.com/SyndicateNav.cfm

    My motor is a F115XA with PID 68V, shaft X serial 1158916.

When I go to Step 4 for identifying my motor, there are several choices for a F115XA. There are 4 additional digits behind the F115XA which I do not have a clue as to what these mean and do not see any references on any of the data I have received or on the motor.

Can someone tell me which I should select and why. Thanks

those digits refer to the date of manufacture,

since your engine is newer than 2005 when Yamaha stopped using model years.

There is a poster here who can tell from your serial # -

but if you are near the engine,

on the other side of the bracket from your model/serial #

what is the month/year of manufacture?

The month and year of manufacture are 01/13. September 2013.

The numbers behind the model in the Yamaha parts catalog represent the dates of production. You will find an F115XA with 0113 behind it. For January 2013.

The next later F115XA has 0114 behind it. For January 2014.

To see the part numbers installed on your model you will pick the one with F115XA 0113 since your motor was made after this date but before the next batch of F115XA that were produced in Jan 2014.

      Capiche?
