  • 70 ELTK wiring

Just repowered the bass boat with a used 1985 Yamaha 70 ELTK, but rec'd no controls or harness's. Picked up a used 10 pin pull to open 703 control on E-bay, and have a short harness which I assume is for tach, overheat alarm, gauges, etc. Wires are pink, yellow, black, green, and another double yellow. The outboard itself has a couple of other harness's which I need to identify. One harness originates from the tilt-trim which I assume is for a remote trim/tilt switch, another one from the oil reservoir black-green-green with red tracer, a lone pink one from the overheat sender, and a yellow with red tracer from the ignition module. Without the handwritten or verbally repeated wiring diagram, it's difficult to put it all together. Any help greatly appreciated.

First check the 703 control from Ebay and make sure it is a pull to open throttle, if it's push to open then you will need to exchange the throttle arm inside control box to work on 1985 70hp. The older 703 had 3 wire harness(besides main harness). The one with green, yellow, black wires are for the gauges. The one with green, blue and red wires are for connecting to remote trim switch. The other harness is not needed.
