  • Yamaha P-7A

    Hi,

    I just purchased a vintage Yamaha p7a , does any one know where I can find parts and info please . Any answer is much appreciated since I didn't find much on the web

    you wont find much from any US market source.
    while I know they built a 7 and a 5 hp I have only seen pictures of the 7 and the 5hp is on display in Kennesaw GA.

    they were never imported for the US market.

      Maybe the Yamaha folks in Kennesaw would buy it from you to display next to their 5 HP model?.....

          Just fount out that it wasn't a very popular motor since it made a lot of vibration and noise !!! Which makes it more exiting can't wait to hear that vruuum

            If I'm not wrong P7a was the 1st outboard made by Yamaha.

            My Yamaha dealer have one in exposition on the shop.

            I guess will not be easy find parts for that motor!

            Maybe you can try the EU Yamaha importer in the Netherlands as they are the supplier of parts for all EU

              Can you provide us with the primary ID number that should be on a decal on the side of the motor? Should begin with the number 6.

                According to my "Almetelo Book of Yamaha Knowledge" a P7A model was offered in 1964 ~ 1965. It was offered in Canada amongst a number of other countries.

                  This is what's written on the black aluminum name plate on the side of the motor,

                  Name P-7A
                  Engine No. K3173. ( or KL3173 not sure if it's an L or a dent )
                  Yamaha Motor Co.,Ltd
