  • Yamaha midsection noise

Hello guys. I ran my boat today and came across a weird noise coming from the midsection of my outboard. Here is a video at idle.
What do you guys think? Sounds like a bad Detroit Diesel! Lol

If its like my F150, there's a bushing in the mid section that helps support the drive shaft. When mine is dry of grease, it "chips" at about 1,800 RPM's...

Have you have the WP serviced and the shaft greased inside a year or two?

Regular wheel bearing grease won't cut it either. Water will wash it away. Use the Yamaha specific grease for the bushing/shaft..
