  • Momentary Miss Issue AET115

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some ideas on a problem that is doing my head in.

Motor = AET 115 4 banger, 1050 hours, well serviced, looked after etc never a problem.

Motor has developed a momentary "miss" or cutout.
    - Any part in the rev range
    - if it happens at idle in gear it will generally kill the motor, when it does kill the motor the motor is generally hard to start, winds over a few times before firing
    - if it happens with some revs on keeps running perfect
    - Very intermittent and random, ran this week for 20 hours no worries and then did it twice within 1 hour.
    - When it happens I get a code 28 shift position sensor, turn key of, re start and code gone

So far I have replaced all the plugs and hooked up to diagnostics, didn't get any active faults. Fuel and electrics all good.

At this stage the code 28 is all I have to work with but I'm unsure as to if this is central to the issue or just a result of the miss.

    Keen to hear any ideas.

    rgds, Scott
