  • Should I get water from these places when running on earmuffs?

    Good evening guys.

So I just spent weeks on diagnosing no spark issue and fixed it with new CDI.

Anyways ... I replaced full impeller housing and impeller. Put everything together , put the water tube through the rubber piece and tightened everything back on.

I have really good water pressure coming out of pisser and the water stays cold the entire time.

I noticed water coming out all all the little holes on the lower unit and out of exhaust notches and in the back where the ground wire and speedometer hose goes in.

I will post the video clip in a little. I'm sure it's all good but just wanted to find out. This is the first time getting this engine to run so I can't compare to how it used to be.

Here is the video: YouTube https://youtu.be/B7Vs4C41Nwk

    Thanks

I just watched a bunch of youtube videos and looks like all the yamahas do that.

I also contacted a yamaha service tech and he said its supposed to be like that, especially that my pisser is pissing out a really high pressure steady stream of water and the water is cold the entire time and the powerhead is cool enough to touch and keep you hand on it without burning yourself.

    what do you guys think?

I get water out of all of those spots on my engine with the exception of the spot on yours you see when you freeze your video at the 12-second mark.

Awesome , that was kind of my big question but I talked to a couple more guys and it is okay with this motor . Since the pressure of the tell tale is really good, extra water goes down through that area (where the speedo hose goes into and ground wire)

I think it's because the little rubber peice that goes on the pump hosing that slides the copper tube into , isn't perfectly tight as to where it's purpose is not to keep water out, and the impeller is brand new and pumps water really good, the excess what're escapes where I can to.

Here are a couple more links of other motors where water coming out of that place:
