  • 2004 300 Hpdi rigging

    Hello everyone,

I just purchased a used 2004 300 Hpdi without any rigging, I was running a 1989 200 etxf is any of my old rigging usable with this engine?

The manufacture date on the Hpdi is 02/04
My main wiring harness(the 10 pin) plugs up fine and the fuel pump will cycle but the key will not crank the motor.

Does anyone have the p/n's for all the rigging I need for this motor.

    Thanks,
    Jason

    all the rigging will work.
you will need round to square adapters for the tach and oil tank harness's.

your trim indicate wont work with the HPDI motor.

your cranking issue is a neutral start or switch issue.

would be better to buy the correct tach and harness's.

        Rodbolt,
I see your in KDH where do you work down there?
I plan to take this motor somewhere to have everything looked through before I run it on the boat.

The motor is new to me so I pulled the injectors and had them serviced.

Other than that I want her fine tuned before running offshore.

I work at Joes marine service in Wanchese NC.

there is a lot more to it than servicing injectors.
the HP pump has some non field replacable filters as well as some filters in the VST,lift pumps and such other stuff fails.
has the oil pump been updated if applicable?

I called Yamaha after buying it and got history report.

New block under factory warranty in 2007

            Oil pump updated in 2009

I replaced the filters and clean the vst pump

I did the basket filters in the hp pump when I did the injectors

I guess my main concern is having the proper oil ratio and hooking yds to it.

The strainer is the only thing I haven't done.

            Supposedly has 250 hrs

I was told to go to joes and ask for a certain individual to work on it, I guess I found you. Lol
