  • F225TXRD running "rough", shaking

My F225 has almost 1500 hours on it, and so far has been very reliable.

So today I am 20 miles "offshore".

    - it suddenly started "acting up".

I was *****ing at ~1800 rpms when suddenly there was a "shudder"

The engine was still running, but with a sort of "out of balance" vibration -

and it seemed to be "laboring"

WTF? lost power on a cylinder?

    spark plug crapped out?

    maybe an injector plugged ?

I just added fuel this morning - water in the gas?

Sh*t ! This is bad!!!! Will I be able to limp home?

I may have to radio for Towboat !!!

But then I think, maybe I should start by shutting it down, tilt it up,

    and check the prop.

    Duh.

    Back to running fine now.

    MAINTENANCE!!!

1500 Hours and original "sea crap" wrapped around the prop???

A leak down test would have found that!

I know how that goes, I'm in Florida and the weather changes by the minute. Good to know there is nice weather out there though.
