200 SHO Flashed ECM

Hey all
I'm looking to get some input on a 2011 SHO 200 that has had the ECM flashed.

1) Is there much concern that the engine could have issues as a result of this? And is there anything particular I should look at?

2) How much would it cost to reprogram the ecm?

I have never heard of them being able to flash them.
how do you know this has been done, and why was it done if it was done

The current owner has this stated in the description. Went from 200 hp to over 300. I did a search and apparently it is a thing.

I would be contacting Yamaha to see if this is a real thing that can be done.
and how to undo it if you want to.
I myself never heard it could be done
I think they were just blowing smoke

It certainly can be done, but the claims of lots of extra HP, and better fuel economy are mostly somewhat embellished…….

ausnoelm….any potential engine issues this could cause? I have found where the ecm can be reverted back to factory by reprogramming it so I would have to factor that in

Long term damage/wear is anyone’s guess, it can be put back to standard.
