  • yamaha f20lpa high temp alarm going off

Hello, I have a Yamaha F20LPA and it keeps getting a high temp alarm occasionally only when at idle or low speeds when on the Lake. If I turn the engine off and back on it clears. I have changed out my impeller and my thermostat and the engine pees with a good stream. Originally it would not pee, I changed the impeller and it still would not pee, so then I checked all the water lines and they were all clear. Lastly I changed out the thermostat and it started peeing. If I run the boat with rabbit ears hooked up to the hose or submerging the engine in a bucket with hose water, and run it for over 30 min no issue, once I put it in the water using the warmer lake water is when I see this. Does the F20LPA have a pressure control valve or poppet valve that I need to replace or is there a high temp sensor that I can order to replace?

how do you know it is a high temp alarm?
do you have gauges that show that is what the alarm is when it comes in?
