  • Showa trim/tilt leak help

Good evening, I’m new here and am looking for some help on something. I’ve got a 1997 Yamaha 150 2 stroke v6 it has a showa trim/tilt setup that works well but has constantly leaked during my ownership (6 months) I’m trying to fix the issue. It’s not leaking out of any of the hydraulic rams. It is however leaking out behind the pump motor as shown in this photo. Does anyone have a good diagram of one of these or maybe know specifically where this leak might be coming from. Thanks in advance.

Clean everything. Dirt and sand may damage piston rod, or/and seal. Look at parts diagram and observe/try understand possible where leak may be coming from. If it's o-ring under motor - easy fix.

At this point, it could be leaking from ANY possible leak point above that spot. It's highly unlikely that the leak point is below that point since gravity usually works...

As mentioned above... clean it REAL well and then monitor it closely to find the leak... or at least a trail to lead you to the leak point. Paper towels taped in key areas can help... even dusting the area with something like flour.
