The plunger caps (1) on the carb of my outboard have disintegrated and need to be replaced, preferably without removing the carb. I haven’t been able to find anything online about how to do that.
It looks like the starter rod (2) the caps fit over may pop out of the plastic linkage (3) that compresses them, but I’m wary about pry too hard on small pieces made of 20+ year old plastic.
Any insight on how to approach this is appreciated!
