  • Tilt Dust Seal part number??- 70ETLJ

I am looking for the part number for the tilt dust seal for a 1986 70hp.
All the parts manuals I have searched show the diagram on the right. It looks like the dust seal would be part 17, however, that part is listed as a back up ring.
I continued to search 70 hp year by year until I came to the 2005 - 70BETOL, diagram on the left. That diagram does show a dust seal and lists the part number 6H1-43812-00-00. I purchased this seal, but it is about 1mm too small. It does not fit tightly in the tilt cap. Can anyone tell me the part number I need?Part number.png

That's a bit strange for sure. The only dust seals shown are for trim rod, item 30. Do you a pair of vernier calipers? If the tilt and trim rods are the same diameter you may be able to use that seal. It's only $10 so no great loss if it does not fit.

You can also go to a hydraulic supply store and bring the old seal and they be able to match it up for you.

Don't know what else to suggest.

Unfortunately, the trim rods are smaller. I purchased the "30"s and they fit perfectly with the smaller rods and caps.

it is just a dust seal, not a oil seal so you can probably just use the old one if you did not tear it up

Go to a industrail hydraulic supply place and have them match one up for you.
