1996 yammy 20hp carb float adjustment

Motor has been running rough for a while. Ended up going to the carbs and putting a rebuild kit it in. Only issue I've found now is one of the float heights isn't the the 14.5mm +/-.5mm. How are these all plastic floats suppose to be adjusted. Service manual says to bend the tang, tried one on the old all plastic float and it exploded as expected. Other carb was bang on.

Plastic when new can be pliable. Brittle and break when old. Is this what happened to you?

I mean I guess. I was hesitant to try on the new part after what happened to the old part

Aftermarket floats or Yamaha? The aftermarket floats can be off enough to cause trouble...seen it. Never had trouble with Yamaha floats..put them in and go.
