  • Yamaha 75 HP 2 Stroke squealing sound

    Hello community,

my 75 HP 2 stroke Yammie has recently started making squealing noises. This sounds appears and dissapears sporadically in and out of gear. Anyone has an idea on the cause of this sound? Am I looking at a shot bearing or Rod needle bearings?
I‘ve uploaded 2 Videos of the engine on idle and running:

Many thanks for your help and best greetings.

I didn’t hear much of a squealing sound, but, I can tell you, it sounds very sick, do some basic investigation before you use it again. Compression test first off, and check plug condition while they are out.

Drop lower unit and check to see if your motor has a driveshaft bushing that may need some grease?….

I checked today the spark plugs and the compression.
spark Plugs looked a little bit oily, but nothing unusual.

Compression was even on all 3 Cylinders (100 psi)
