  • F150 power trim problem

Hey my trimmotor tilt area works normally.
the trim mode up is normally , but down came suddenly very slow and wails quietly , takes 30-50 second to down.
When i pump up and down in trim area 2-5 times it suddenly takes normal .
Half day later same slow cames back.
I take trimmotor leads from solenoid and switch them to battery> slow and quietly down, up goes normally
The bad is only in trim area down and it comes suddenly 2 weeks ago.
    What is on?
No bad brushes or bent rams , because it suddenly wors normal and tilt (and trim up)works fine all the time.
I Wonder it is a valve in the pump that is jamming, but which valve?

Oil is top when tilt is up.
Manual Release is working fine, motor goes down perfectly; not jamming.
    Still power trim down problem

Nobody has have this kind of problem with trim pump?
Trim down is the only move when trimmotor goes down and sounds like it pumps against plug, not to open line.
Which valve cause this kind of problem?
It has only 380 hours of life now.
I assume yamaha works 2000 hour trouble free driving.

Do the easy thing first and change the fluid. What does the fluid look like? Is it black or milky color?

Do anybody has a glue what valve is sticking or what hole is blocked by O-ring piece or something?
I take the boat out of ice late in november and take powertrim out of motor and to my workshop.

Hi; now the boat is up on land.
I take powertrim out from bracket and what i see.
There are 7 cracks on trim motor case.
The case is plastic and inside is steelpipe with 1mm sidewall.
                  To pipe has magnets glued.
Now water has gone thrue cracks to steel and it has corrosion and made more cracks to plastic.
The steel pipe inside has little corrosion inside and little moisten has corrored brush spring to peaces.
So one brush has not get correct touch to armature.
                  This is what i found.
My motor is 2016 so no warranty, when i mail to seller.
So i mail to yamaha importer in Finland where i live.
I told what i found; that it was impossible to see the cracks without to take hole powertrim out from the bracket , because cracks were naturally between bracket and transom.
Nothing cracks would see when tilt up, outside of motor case was perfect;.
So i invoke to that the plastic case had been false from factory since new, if it has not been tine crack or porous, it would not rust.
                  I want new motor case.
"Importer answered , no way it is old motor sorry. You have not serviced on representative mechanic."
Hiho Who the hec takes powertrim out to inspect it in norm. service interval?
Has anybody have same issue on motor?
                  Here are some pics.

Hi, do anybody know what is the difference of these trim motors?
                      63P-43804-10-00 and 6KW-4388-001
One dealer sells 63p and other dealer 6kw and i don't know what is my original motor number.
                      Yammy is serial F150, 63P 1174524
Should the importer give me new motor or give it half price?
Failure on plastic housing is factory made, because it could never gone to crack in medium salt sea at Finland;; no Florida sun to UV.
Cracks are behind motor to transom side.

The 63P-43804-10-00 is apparently the cover only (which is what you need / what failed (plus seals, etc) about $125.00 US

The 6KW-4388-001 is the entire pump, about $1,000.00 US..

                        .

Looks like water got in there and froze. The cracks look like the plastic cover swelled up when frozen.

or the rust caused the expansion.
