  • Check valves on 130 2 stroke oiling system

Does anyone know what the in line check valves form the oil pump to the carb do on a 130 2 stoke. Can they fail. If they do what happens. My engine is getting over oiled. I have check/replaced and adjusted everything. Can check valves cause over oiling? Thanks

yes they can fail. had a bad one one my 90. but they are there to prevent oil from draining out of the line when not in use. They would not cause your over-oiling problem.

There is a procedure and a spec to check for the correct volume of oil. I do not know what it is for your motor, but basically, you pull the linkage off of your oil pump and let it go to full open. then pull a line off and put in a measuring cup. You then run the motor for a set time at a set rpm and measure the amount of oil that was pumped out and compare it to the spec.

And obviously since doing this requires you to pull an oil line, you have to run the motor on a pre-mix for this.....
