    He came back and said it sounds like an exhaust obstruction. I would agree 100% if I could see one. The pathway is clear as far as I can see.
    Before pulling the powerhead, I'm open to ideas once again.
    I would agree with you on the exhust.
    So, current goal is to trace the kill-the-motor wire on the motor. I'm guessing it goes to the ECM.
    Maybe a crazy idea but when you put it in the water are you creating and earth ground through the lower unit thats acting like a kill switch? A frayed wire some were. Your first instinct was its acting like a kill switch

      "If" it was an exhaust obstruction where being in the water compounds the issue, then... immediately pull back up the ramp a bit to get the lower unit out of the water. Give it a minute to drain. Try to start it on the ramp. You won't hurt the impeller if it starts - you'll be able to turn it back off right away and there will still be some water in the impeller housing, anyways. If it starts - back into the water and try again.
