  • 2007 150TXR block repair

    i have a small corrosion hole on the top of the block. is there a way i can repair it without changing the block out? IMG_6306.jpg

    Some folks have welded or epoxied holes in their blocks.

        Since it’s not a high pressure or stressed area I would sand the area and clean it to the bare metal and apply a blob of JB Weld…..then paint it. It should do well there. I’ve had great luck with JB Weld on cracked skegs and similar areas without issue…Of course if you have one hole in the block or head there may be others working their way through as we speak, so good idea to continue to check for other holes/leaks in the future….

          I had the block on my C40 welded up right next to the thermostat where a hole corroded thru.
          guy used a high frequency machine and had problems because of the corrosion or impurities in the metal bubbling out
