  • Yamaha 130 Two stoke over oiling

I have a 2 stroke 2000 year 130. The thing smokes really badly and is getting over oiled I think. I have had the carbs professionally rebuilt, checked the oil pump linkage for correct operation and am still having a problem. The engine might have been run for a short while with no oil in the motor mounted reservoir. Do these pumps ever go bad. It runs very rough and smoky at low end but runs really good at tope end. Any thoughts on what else it could be? Thanks

My initial thought is that the oil control link rod is disconnected. In which case it will default to the maximum oiling position. But if the link rod is connected, and the oil pump is set correctly, then I have not a clue.

How in the world could the motor have been run with no oil in the main reservoir? The alarm would have been blaring saying turn me off turn me off turn me off.

Right ON. It was because some Moron was running it on a stand without the gauges hooked up. UGH!
