    Hi,
My cdi is out of order. I saw on box TIA03-14A 688-15 oem parts seems to be 688-85540-15. Is it possible to replace it with 688-85540-16 or 688-85540-14? Where i can found the différence those cdi?
    Thanks

A -15 would usually be a normal supercedure from a -14 and a -16 would be the superceded part from the -15. The later dash number is the later design. Unfortunately, Yamaha does not always disclose the reason for the updated part or what the design changes might be for.

The part number that is available here in the USA is either the 688-85540-15-00 or the -16-00. Prices are about the same. If your motor uses a -15-00, and the -15-00 is still available, I would install that part number. The -16-00 might work or might not. If it does not you are stuck with an expensive paper weight.
