  • Rough acceleration

    Accelerating after putting the motor into gear, causes the motor to rev very high. There is not a smooth graduation from idle. Accelerating as gently as possible, the motor immediately revs too high. Can this be adjusted? It’s not just the idle speed. Can anyone help me here please

    Sounds like the propeller hub is spun...

    Some info re your engine, year, model, HP, etc helps too..

      Agree. Based on what you wrote, that's the classic symptoms for a spun hub. We have no idea how old the motor (or prop) is, but you can double check by making a match mark on the rubber hub and the prop, then check the mark after running the boat. Send it out for repair to a prop shop or replace.... again, depends on age/size of prop whether it's worthwhile to repair.
