Well after screwing with our 1996 SWSII with no solution, we have decided to cut our losses and sell the motor. Looking to upgrade to a 2002-2005 OX66. Found a source that gets a lot of these motors in on trades. When evaluating an OX66, can somebody tell me what to look for?
1. What should compression be? I know you dont want compression to vary more than 5 psi overall from cylinder to cylinder.
2. What problems to look for? Ive heard that VSTs, low pressure (or maybe high pressure) fuel pumps can be problematic. Just need to know areas to focus on.
3. Any years to avoid?
4. I have no problems paying a mechanic to evaluate the engine for me. The engines are in Stuart, FL.
