Old 2 cycle oil

Neighbor gifted an unopened gallon of QuickSilver for API-TC PWC synthetic 2 cycle oil. The oil is some 2-3 years old. Is it usable or does the oil get out of date? Thanks.

it MUST be rated TCW-3.
if its rated TCW-3 just shake it well.
if its not rated TCW-3 DO NOT use it in a modern outboard.
