Thanks ausnoelm that is good input I will take note. I know my way around an engine quite well but I have only ever owned tiller steer boats until now so the steering mechanism is new to make an I am still working my way around it.

I read up on the specs and I think the Lical stuff that Yamalube do should be OK

Once again, the grease you put in your bearings should be nowhere near your steering, two different applications.
