90hp 2 stroke model range

I have an '88 model 90hp 2 stroke (model 90etlg). I need a lower unit. Can anyone tell me what years this motor is compatible with? It runs terrific but don't have the funds for a new lower unit ($2K). I think I can find a broken motor for less....

Seems like a good idea to locate/purchase a similar motor with a bad powerhead and use the lower unit...then you'll have all those other spare parts for future use...Maybe go on line and the phone to contact marinas, boat dealers, etc. for a suitable motor....

look up the part # here on this site by clicking on the Purchase Yamaha parts at the top of page when you find the lower unit part# and click on it it will give the other motors/years it fits
