  • intermittent fire at plugs 95' 115hp

    Hey guys.
I have a yami115 2 stroke that is confusing me. I can turn the key and it fires right up. Leave for few days and do it again and no fire at all to any plugs. Wait for a few days and it fires right up. I have put a the spark tester on it and verified this. I also checked the ohms from the stator while turning it over. Looking for 160 and outputting 120. Is this enough to not give the powerpack what it needs to transfer fire to the coils. Weird deal. Once the engine is running, I can turn it off and on all day and not have any issues. After it sits for a couple days the fire disappears. any trouble shooting ideas would be great. I have cleaned all the grounds i could find but have not replaced the ground cable from the battery. charged battery as well as try a new one.

You should not be checking ohms while it is putting out voltage,

You need to check for voltage with proper test equipment

      Disconnect the ten pin harness.
Jump 12v + to the brown feed wire going into the starter relay.
      Check for spark
