Can somebody please tell me where the thermostat is located on a 2000 90hp 2 stroke I am sure its in front of my face but I cant find it

Top rear of the motor. Right in front of your face. Item 42 in this illustration

That pressure control valve plunger/grommet is under that 4 bolt cover also....good idea to check/clean/replace these also while the cover is off checking the thermostat....you may want a new gasket for that cover also....
