  • 1995 yamaha prop

    I have a 1995 yamaha 25hp 2 stroke.
The prop on it is 9 7/8 by 10 1/2.
    I have a new prop that is 10 3/8 by 11.
Is it ok to use it if so do I lose or gain any power.
    Thanks

depends on what boat you put it on and what RPM it can turn along with the load you are pushing

It is on a 14 1/2 food aluminum v. with a wooden floor and two occupants around 500 lbs combined weight.

just like with all other motors the prop you use should allow the motor to get up to the recommended WOT RPMs with the load you are running.

If it cannot get there then there is too much load on the motor.
If it gets too high then there is not enough pitch /diameter.

So you will need something to read your RPMs while running the motor with the load you will be normally running
