  • 2006 F150 oil pressure sensor removal tool?

Is there a special wrench required to remove the oil pressure sensor, if so where can I get one? I cant find a thin enough wrench to get to it. Or do I just need to keep removing parts till I can get to it somehow.
Any advice to minimize unnecessary disassembly would be greatly appreciated. I Do have an oil pressure alarm going off but I suspect the sensor is bad or stuck or something and would like to remove it and see whats going on.

I'm guessing you are dealing with the original sensor,
where you can't see the steel base
    because its smaller than the bakelite electrical portion;

if you hope you re-use it,
    you'll need an open-end wrench that's you've bent at a right angle,
or you might find a "crow's foot" wrench that will work.

If you are planning to replace it,
then just snap off the black bakelite part
and you can get right on what's left with a standard socket.

In any case, its 17 mm.

The replacement part is a very different design (and 24 mm)

looks like the newer one has a different lookin connector.
does the harness need to be modified when putting in the new pressure sensor

        Hmm, I never noticed that.
But the new one takes the same connector -
so if there is any difference in appearance of that particular section of the part,
        its irrelevant -
and the artist might just as well as drawn it the same.
