  • 1989 Yamaha v6 150

    i replaced water impeller ,thermostats flush motor and pop it valve run about 5 min. And alarms come on need help any suggestions

    Is the motor in the water or is it being flushed using muffs?

            It is not abnormal at all for a Yamaha to over temp if being run on just flush muffs. Put the motor in the water and see what happens.

              On the larger motors the muffs may not furnish enough water for the pump, so some use the hose flush and the muffs to make sure enough water flows or like Bosco said put it in the tank or lake/ sea at boat ramp to run

                i am taking it to the lake Friday afternoon to see if that will solve the problem if that don't solve problem should I check the 2 heat sensor and so how to check them
