  • Gasket Material

Not Paying $40+ for a gasket that I am sure I can make myself.
It's for the back of the VST cooling passage. Anyone happen toknow what material I should use for the gasket being it will be in contact with saltwater?

    What was in there before?

I'd guess any paper material would be fine with salt water as salt water won't affect it..

    Part #19 for others:

Many industrial supply houses carry a variety of gasket material....maybe google up “gasket materials”, local.....I’ve found that many gaskets if installed with a suitable marine grease, silicone compound or anti-seize compound can be removed without damage and re-used.....
