I'm starting from ground zero of knowledge on Yamaha outboards & rigging options. But I understand they are the ones to use. :-)
I tried looking these questions up, but not successfully, so am asking you folks here for some help and guidance.
Building a 30' Catamaran & will use a T9.9 w/electric start.
What are the options & choices for remote start, throttle & shift?
I read there's the 703 remote control, but what but don't know what is part of the 'kit' or what else I'll need.
I want to be able to start, control throttle, shift F-N-R, and tilt engine remotely.
I see there are mechanical and electronic, drive-by-wire controls. Don't know if both are available or what the benefits of one over the other for my application are.
I would like to keep lines as easy to connect & disconnect as possible as the motor will be taken on and off the boat depending on situation.
Any recomendations as to what rigging set up to use or any other help would be most apprecated!
