    '98 S115TLRW

Needing 1' more cable length, I'll be replacing my existing mechanical steering cable (SeaStar Teleflex Safe-T) once I begin my console project. This existing cable is very very stout....very little flex, and fairly thick....about the same diameter as your thumb. My guess is the cable is as old as the engine.

For those of you whom have recently replaced a mechanical steering cable, are the cables now a days more flexible and smaller in diameter.....or same design as 20 years ago??

They are only in 1 foot increcments larger or smaller. I don't recommend the no feedback helms or tilts. They are problem child's in the long run. If vessel is 60 mph or more take to a pro !!! Or a hydro optain $$$
