Hello, I am a new member here, but have some outboard experience, Im based in Sydney Australia.
I got , a Yamaha 30hp long shaft two stroke but Im not sure if Im looking up the right engine number to determine parts and year model.
    On the plate is

can someone assist or point me in the right direction please?
    Kindest Regards, David Lane.

that model would not be listed in this web site for US models, but Boscoe might come up with one that should cross over.
have you looked in your side of the world Yamaha system
is there a production date sticker on the motor also?

!988 model year motor. Equivalent to a USA model 30SG/30LG/30ESG/30ELG. Depending upon shaft length and electric start versus manual start.

thanks dude, appreciate that, yes, in Australia we get all sorts of weird crap.

mines electric start and pull start, long shaft.

I have a Mercury that is international, and its near impossible to get the right parts.

Again, thanks for that, at least it indicates an approximate year model, so when I do go chasing for parts, it will help source them.
          Cheers, David Lane.

pardon me for being stupid, but ive looked at several of the variations mentioned, an d the diagrams, which shows triple carbs, not a single carby. and the carby I have with it, im a bout suspicious its the right one though..does not look like any of those in the diagrams.

The CV model 30 here in Aus had a single carb, there was another model that was a triple carb and I think oil injection back then.

ok, might be right carby then, its just there is two fuel lines going in, which Im going to have to try to figure out what goes where....

that is sad to hear, but they do not last forever.
what pushed you over the edge?
                              compression bad?
