  • 2018 F250XCA part number question

    Hi all
    Long time lurker here. Certainly enjoy all the sharing of knowledge.

    Had a little bit of a hiccup and wanted to replace a wire harness. Looks to be related to trim pump. I looked through lots of parts catalog but can seem to figure it out.

    thanks so much.

    Yes, I think that is the trim pump motor leads.
    In which case, what you are seeing is not a discrete harness,
    but rather part of the trim motor;
    it runs continuously from inside the sealed motor housing,
    ends up inside the cowling where it attaches to the trim relay.

    So to 'replace' that 'harness' you would replace the trim motor -
    not cheap:

    Personally, I would look to repair that with simple 'generic' wire sleeving -
    if I could find some;
    disconnect the harness at the relay,
    snake the ends back out of the cowling so you can woek with it,
    and then repair as needed.

        Thanks. Yeah I traced the wire down to the trim motor. Wish I could just pin out there and then hook back up to the trim motor. Unfortunately my steering cylinder would need to be removed and who knows what else. Kind of odd how they ran the wires. The harness end your right goes into the relay under the cowl. Good news is about an extra two feet of wiring and casing.
        Also a few of the wires were compromised so I was going to trim them back a bit to remove corrosion and then use water proof solder connectors. Then heat shrink and pull some of the additional wire sleeving over.

        thank you so much for the help.
