  • 1999 115 v4 2-stroke carb help

    C115TLRX
Carbs rebuilt but seems to rub rich (rich is too much gas, right?). Is there an adjustment I can make to lean it out? What screws, etc?

Sorry; “run” rich. Not rub. I am a new boat owner. Never took carbs apart before. Amazing what one can learn from YouTube. But can’t get good info on messing with the mix. Any help is greatly appreciated. Just want to get better mileage. Seems to me that it runs rich.

so it sounds like you are saying the motor uses too much fuel, not fouling plugs or missing( not firing on some cylinders)
how much fuel are you using?

being a 99 is the prime start system functioning properly and shutting off after warm up?

Need to remove the silencer to access the carbs' idle adjustment screws, found at the top of each carb. Spec turnout is 5/8 +/- 1/4....good place to start, then fine tune. Careful when detaching the silencer from carb intake....there is an incredibly small rubber o-ring that secures the choke solenoid's articulating arm on to the carbs choke lever.
