    Good point. A Permatrim has vertical walls that extend downwards. They might help to prevent sliding but I don't see why the lower unit does not do that just as well.

    My 14' Mirrocraft (aluminum) has about the flatest bottom possible but it does have some longitudinal reinforcements running down the bottom and it never gave me nary a sliding problem. Perhaps the OP has a fiberglass boat with a baby's butt slick bottom.

      There's also other "foils" available that have a 'wing' shape to them. They would help the hole shot even more since they will create lift to help get the stern out of the hole.
