Hi all, I have a 1987 Yamaha Excel 225 V6 that hasn't run for 3 years. Last night I started it up for the first time and it would not run unless I held the key in the start position. When releasing the key from start position it would run for 1-2 seconds then cut out.
I tried the emergency bypass (connect A plug to B plug) and it ran perfectly fine.. Also the tachometer is erratic. When it runs, the tacho is showing 7000rpm.
Anyone able to provide any information would be fantastic. Many thanks.
