  • f60a starter saga continues

    Hi guys,

i appreciate all the input so far, butthe problem hasn't been fixed.

i have a 2003 F60a carburettor outbaord that fails to crank intermittently when i turn the key.
A new starter, flywheel and voltage drop tests haven't found a thing wrong.

a lesser strength bendix spring has improved it someewhat but it still disengages more than i would like. With the lesser spring it is slower to drop down and catches again thus allowing cranking.

Dealer thinks compression kicks starter out before engine has started, and how could compression kick it out when kill switch is out.

Is this a problem with an incorrect base timing setting??

Does anyone else's four stroke carburettor fail to crank consistently with the kill switcxh is out. or does it sometimes crank and others disengage.

    Regards

    Kellaig

I'm not sure what the problem could be. You might have your dealer recheck compression, valve timming, belt and valve clearence.
