  • F8 2015 won't start...

Engine has been running string all season until yesterday...

Now, it won't start. Checked everything I know to check
    It's in neutral
Kill switch has the clip on it
    There's gas in the tank
    Primer bulb is full
Fuel filter air bubble moves when bulb is squeezed

Last time I was out on it, I started it cold with no problem. Ran it to one of my fishing spots about a minute away with no issue. Fished for 10 minutes, started it up again with no issue and ran it for about a minute when the power cut out on it, and it stalled. Realized the primer bulb had no fuel in it at that point, so I primed it up, started it after a few pulls, and made it back to the dock without issue.
Then yesterday, will not start. Like it's not getting gas or not firing no matter how many times I pull it.

    Any suggestions are MUCH appreciated!

does the plug get good spark?
    does it have good compression?

does the bulb get firm when priming?

you have do some testing, we have no crystal ball to look into

The bulb gets firm while priming.
      The plugs have good spark.

I do not know how or if I can test compression...

Thank you for the testing ideas. As you can probably tell, I'm new to outboard engines

Squirt a little gas in the intake and see if it will start. If it does, even briefly, then you know you have a fuel problem. I am wondering why your primer ball had no fuel in it the first time it broke down...as you described. Something going on there.

          You were on to something!

Replaced the fuel line from the tank to the engine (new bulb too), and pulled 10 or so times, and it started up and ran fine.

          Thanks everyone!!

does it still take 10 pulls?
I would not be happy with that.

It took 10 pulls to get it started after replacing the fuel line. Since then it starts in the first or second pull, which I believe to be normal?
