1989 yamaha 225 gear help

Have a 1989 225 yamaha excel. The gears in the foot is 1.80 ratio. Problem is its not made anymore. It has chipped a tooth. Does anyone know if they have a cross over gear.

What do you mean by cross over gear? I am not familiar with that term.

It actually has busted one tooth off. Bosece99 I'm meaning is there a part number that was crossed over for that gear. Is there a newer model foot that will bolt up or newer gears that may fit the housing?

it would depend on if it was the pinion, forward, or reverse gear that is chipped.
or maybe he is looking for a complete set of gears?

Pinion gear it is number 43 on the diagram. Also will need number 68. The gland nut.

Maybe consider a used but still mechanically healthy lower unit?.....

looks like that pinion fits 87 to 95 year 225.
might need a set of gears or a used lower unit if new are not available
