    Hello. My trim sender broke. i purchased a second hand one. the only difference between the two is the old one was 3 wires and the new one has 4. i spliced together colour to colour Black, Orange, pinky but left the grey out from the second hand sender , the gauge didnt alter still shows fully trimmed out . any ideas

      90 AETO 6HL L 482041 B I dont think there was any number i new part i will check . If you could tell me on the broken one that i took off there were 3 wires 1 x Black 1 x Orange and 1 x Pink would you know what these do

        There are three wire senders and there two wire senders. Three wire senders are potentiometers. Two wire senders are a variable resistor.

        Change from three wire to two wire happened circa 2001. Here in the USA anyway.

        If you can physically get the wrong sender installed, and then change the tachometer from the three wire type to the two wire type it should work.
