  • 2001 250hp Yamaha OX66 WOT issue.

I have changed All low pressure pumps, every filter, cleaned screen on fuel regulator, injectors just serviced, vst filter, TPS checked out when I tested, Cleaned O2 sensor and Inside the channel, O2 sensor checked out following Yamahas check, Tried on external tank and did the same, check fuel pressure and was at the 37 psi.... BUT during the issue trying to get to WOT the psi drops a few PSi, what can it be?

so what’s happening is when I climb RPMs close to 5000 the motor backs down by itself, won’t go past 4900 or 5000 then starts losing RPms slowly, until I throttle back . Motor starts and runs perfect from 0 - 4500.

Im at a loss. Can the O2 sensor play a factor on fuel pressure By telling the computer somethings wrong? Not allowing the pressure to be normal. Scratching my head , thanks in advance

did you monitor the fuel pressure while the problem shows up?

I did , it drops just a few PSI, 5 psi

5 psi drop is more than a few, and I would think it is too far.
maybe a restriction or sucking air causing VST to get low
more fuel is required at high RPMs

I just changed the VST gasket, wouldn’t there be a visual leak or smell of fuel under the cowling?

not if it was on the suction side
