  • Powertrim 6H1-12 vs 6H1-13

I have a 70hp 2 stroke outboard 1992, with a broken 6H1-12 powertrim. Bought a used replacement trim/tilt assembly 6H1-13 that fits perfectly well, but the trim tilt motor needs to be replaced. Trying to establish the year of production for the 6H1-13 to understand if it is the same as for 6H1-12 or not. I e trim tilt motor 6H1-43880-02 or 6H1-43880-00?

    Any guidance is appreciated.

The -12 trim and tilt assembly was applicable to a 1991 model year 70TLRP. https://www.boats.net/catalog/yamaha...-tilt-assembly

The -13 trim and tilt assembly was applicable to a 1992TLRQ and later model 70's.. https://www.boats.net/catalog/yamaha...-tilt-assembly

The -12 trim and tilt assembly was replaced by the -13 part number. They are form, fit and function the same.

The -12 used a 6H1-43880-00-00 motor. The -13 used a 6H1-43880-02-00 motor. I would expect the -02-00 motor to be a form, fit and function replacement for the -00-00 motor.

Thanks for that clarification. The -02-00 and -00-00 motors have different diameters, which might be compensated with a different o-ring for it to fit properly as I’ve understood. But you’ve just confirmed that I was about to order the right trim motor. Now I can go ahead with the replacement.

        Over and out!
